From Athlete to Anchor
Natalie Kalibat is a TV anchor, commentator, host and emcee who is currently doing live sports broadcasting on digital platforms, including ESPN.
Natalie attended the University of Southern California.
She was a member of the varsity women’s swimming and diving teams and helped USC win the 2016 Pac-12 Swimming & Diving Championship with her diving.
She also finaled in the 2012 Olympic Trials in the 10-meter synchronized platform event.
Natalie still holds several records in her home state of New Jersey.
Natalie has put that experience to good use in her new career, serving as the analyst for the 2018 Big Ten Swimming & Diving Championships coverage on Big Ten Network and the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championships on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
She also broadcasts swimming & diving for ACC Network Extra, FloSwimming and the Ivy League Network on ESPN and produces exclusive content for USA Diving.
She also broadcasts Division I college football as a radio analyst for FIU.
She has called women’s lacrosse play-by-play for the Northeast Conference championships, the Big South on ESPN and the Atlantic 10 on ESPN. She has worked as an analyst for the Big South on ESPN and the American Athletic Conference on ESPN+. She is a women’s lacrosse sideline reporter for the Ivy League championships and NCAA Tournament for the Ivy League Network on ESPN.
She has women’s basketball play-by-play experience for Longwood University on the Big South Network on ESPN+, is a sideline reporter for Conference USA women’s basketball on ESPN+, and previously worked as a sideline reporter for Coppin State men’s and women’s basketball TV broadcasts.
She has also been a men’s hockey analyst for the Ivy League Network and a softball analyst on the American Athletic Conference on ESPN+ and the Big South Network
She was the weekday sports anchor at WRIC-TV in Richmond, Va. from 2017 to 2021 and was the only female sports anchor in the market.
She has been honored in the categories of Best TV Sports Anchor and Outstanding Sports Operation of the Virginias by the Associated Press of the Virginias.
She extensively covered the Washington Commanders, including during training camp sessions in Richmond.
During her time in Richmond, she covered the Stanley Cup Final, the MLB All-Star Game, and the NASCAR Monster Energy, Xfinity Series and Truck Series at Richmond Raceway, including the most recent playoff races.
She has also anchored several national and regional news and sports specials for Nexstar, including “Destination Vacation” and “Veterans Voices”.
She also has emceed several panels, including Play Like a Girl at the National Archives in Washington, D.C., with Olympians Monica Abbott and Tricia Mangan and WNBA Head of League Operations Bethany Donaphin.
Natalie began her career at WBOY-TV in West Virginia as the weekend sports anchor and reporter.
During her time at Southern California, she interned for ESPN, Pac-12 Networks and in the sports department at NBC 4 Southern California.
She grew up in a family of Division 1 athletes.
Her mother, Rebecca, swam at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.
Kristiana, her sister, competed at Wagner College on Staten Island, N.Y.
Natalie’s brother, Peter, was captain of the swimming and diving team at Georgetown.
